You run campaigns, publish content, invest time and money. The content gets shared, people come, browse, click, add items to cart. Everything looks like it should.
And then you look at your sales numbers and… nothing really happens.
You are attracting attention, but sales get stuck. If this sounds familiar, you are not the only one. The problem is clearly not visibility. It is what happens after you get someone in. Because between a click and a purchase, there are more steps than it seems. Let’s break it down.
Not Every Visit Is A Purchase
Just because someone lands in your webshop does not mean they are ready to buy. Maybe they are exploring. Maybe they are comparing options. Maybe your ad caught their attention, but they are still not sure they need what you are offering.
The moment they land, they check if what they see matches what they expected. If your ad says one thing and your page shows another, you have already lost them.
For example, if they click on “30% off” and cannot immediately see where that discount is, they will leave. People today simply do not have the patience to search, scroll, and think too much.
First Impression Sells. Or Pushes People Away
Imagine walking into a physical store and having no idea where you are, what is being sold or how to buy. You would probably turn around and leave.
The same applies online.
If a user has to figure things out, go back, search for information, and think too much, you are losing them. Not dramatically. Quietly. They just disappear.
So remember this – your webshop does not need perfect design. It needs to be clear, simple and direct: what are you selling, how much does it cost and how do I buy it.
No Trust, No Conversion
Trust is a huge factor and it is often underestimated. You know your store is legitimate. That does not mean your customer knows it.
If there are no reviews, no clear delivery and return information, and no sense of security, many people will walk away. Even if they like what you are offering.
The Cart Is Only Halfway
Most purchases are lost in the cart. The reasons are usually very concrete: shipping turns out to be more expensive than expected, checkout takes too long, registration is required or there are too many steps.
These are small things that matter a lot. The less friction you have, the better your sales will be.
Mobile Still Gets Overlooked
Most people come from their phones and somehow this still gets ignored. If your site looks bad or loads slowly on mobile, you are losing sales.
So go through your own buying process regularly. Do it on desktop and on mobile. Walk through it like a customer – you will be surprised how many things do not work the way you thought.
Visibility Without Strategy Is Just Noise
Traffic on its own does not mean much if you do not know who is coming and what they want. It is not the same if you are talking to someone who just discovered you or someone who already follows you.
If you send the same message to everyone, part of your audience will not react. Not because they do not need your product or service, but because it is not the right moment.
Small Fixes, Big Impact
Visibility matters, but sales happen because of details.
You do not need big changes. Often, small improvements are enough: a clearer message, fewer steps, more transparent costs, a bit more trust on the page.
And most importantly, always look at your webshop through your customer’s eyes.
If you get stuck, you know where to find me!
